Now, the voltage spikes from the Main Coil can be collected in the capacitor when the switch is open and periodically delivered to the battery when the hnadbook is temporarily closed. Unfortunately, some have performed better than others. The Emitter is connected to the Negative of the Battery, the Collector is connected to the Main Coil, and the Base is connected to the part of the circuit that tells the transistor when to turn ON and when to turn OFF.
